A non-surgical, bespoke combination approach to strengthen existing hair, improve density and create a healthier environment for hair growth — using your own biology.
Hair thinning can be a deeply personal concern. At DermaMedica, we offer a non-surgical, bespoke combination approach using advanced regenerative therapies to strengthen existing hair, improve scalp health and create an environment that supports natural hair density recovery.
Our approach is medical — not cosmetic. We begin with a detailed assessment of your scalp health, hair density and the pattern of hair loss before selecting the most appropriate combination of treatments. We use PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma), exosomes and polynucleotides — either individually or in combination — depending on your specific needs.
While hair restoration treatments cannot reverse significant hair loss, they are highly effective at slowing progressive thinning, strengthening existing hair follicles and improving overall scalp health. Results develop gradually as hair follows its natural growth cycle.
A detailed assessment of your scalp health, hair density and loss pattern is conducted. Trichoscopy (scalp imaging) may be used to evaluate follicle health.
PRP is prepared from your own blood, or exosome/polynucleotide serums are prepared. These are injected directly into the scalp at follicle level using fine needles after application of topical anaesthetic.
Growth factors, signalling molecules and DNA repair agents are delivered directly to the follicles, activating dormant follicles and supporting the health and growth cycle of active ones.
These treatments are most effective at strengthening existing thinning hair and slowing progressive loss. They work best when treatment begins early in the hair loss process, before follicles have miniaturised significantly. Completely bald areas with no surviving follicles cannot respond.
Each has evidence supporting its efficacy, and a combination approach often delivers superior results. PRP uses your own growth factors; exosomes carry more comprehensive cellular signals; polynucleotides repair at a cellular level. Your clinician will recommend the most appropriate protocol.
Most patients begin with a course of 3–6 sessions. The exact number depends on the severity of thinning and your response to treatment.
Hair follows a growth cycle of several months. Early improvements in hair quality (shine, thickness per strand) are often noticed at 2–3 months. Changes in density typically take 6–12 months to become apparent.
Topical anaesthetic is applied before treatment, making injections well-tolerated. Most patients describe mild pressure or a brief sting.
Absolutely — female pattern hair thinning and post-partum hair loss respond well to regenerative hair restoration treatments.
Medical note: All treatments at DermaMedica are administered by, or under the supervision of, GMC-registered doctors. A face-to-face medical consultation is required before treatment. Not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Full safety information is provided at consultation.
Every patient is different. If this treatment isn't the right fit, one of these alternatives may be exactly what you need.
PRP is also highly effective for facial skin rejuvenation — the same growth factors that stimulate hair follicles dramatically improve skin quality.
Exosome therapy on the face and scalp together — a comprehensive regenerative session addressing both skin quality and hair health.
Polynucleotides on the scalp complement our PRP hair restoration protocol, adding cellular repair alongside growth factor stimulation.
